“When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place.
Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled
the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of
fire that separated and came to rest on each of them.” [Acts 2]
Pentecost “commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit on the Apostles
and other disciples following the Crucifixion, Resurrection, and Ascension of
Jesus Christ (Acts of the Apostles, chapter 2), and it marks the beginning of
the Christian church's mission to the world.” (Britannica)
Please remember to wear your best red for Morning Prayer Pentecost
service this Sunday, May 23, 2021.
